Westridge competes at Provincial Club Championships

Westridge Curling Club is pleased to announce that two teams successfully won at the Alberta Curling Club Championship Provincial Qualifier in Leduc and represented our club at the Alberta Curling Provincial Club Championship in Calgary from April 11-14.

The women’s team skipped by Leslie Hammond, and players Meg Chateauvert, Chantal Otway, Candace Kichton, played they're first game resulted in a score of 4-3 in favour of Ellerslie Curling Club.

They're second game resulted in an outstanding win against Athabasca 9-3 advancing them to another successful game defeating Sherwood Park 4-2.  They advanced to they’re fourth game where the winner would qualify for the championship round, but unfortunately conceded a loss of 6-3 to Lethbridge.

In their last chance to qualify for the championship round, they fell 6-3 to the Okotoks Curling Club.

The men’s team skipped by Ron Cormon, and players Bill Daub, Blair Wood, and Gary Martz, played they’re first game resulting in a score of 6-2 in favor of the North Hill Curling Club

They’re second game was very close but unfortunately resulted in a loss of 8-6 to the Airdrie Curling Club.

In they’re last attempt to qualify for the championship final they played a very close game against the Glencoe Club which unfortunately resulted in a loss of 5-4.

Congratulations too both teams for achieving the opportunity to attend this Provincial Curling Event, and for the outstanding representation of our club at the Qualifier and Provincial Curling Events.
